The experience begins at the door to the theater, with a door handle in the shape of a cobra with an eye of opal. Columns adorned with hieroglyphics frame the colorful murals of the Nile on one side and the desert on the other, as a pair of golden sculptures of King Tutankhamen stands on either side, in front of the cast stone proscenium. Above are a series of outstretched griffon vulture wings, an Egyptian symbol also used on the ceilings of temples for protection. The vulture wings are repeated atop the reconstituted limestone columns, scale replicas of those from Egypts famous Temple of Amun, so it appears that you are looking out at the Nile from between the columns.
