The Sequel Has Arrived!
In response to the enthusiastic demand for the sold-out first volume Private Theaters showcasing our exquisite theater designs, we are publishing a second volume of new theaters, Great Escapes, which is now available directly through TkTheaters.

Introducing the Follow-Up Portfolio Book

This lavishly illustrated book, Great Escapes, published by Harry Abrams with an introduction by Dean Koontz, is the long awaited follow up to the best selling Theo Kalomirakis' Private Theaters. The book chronicles fifteen of Theo's recent projects with 140 superb color photographs and an insightful description of the technology that makes this revolution in home entertainment possible. His design inspirations are drawn from a rich variety of sources - from a French village to Frank Lloyd Wright's famous Unity Temple, from the Tuscan countryside to ancient Egypt - yet each is tailored to its owner.

The Premiere Volume Shines

The elegant first volume with an introduction by Roger Ebert presents eleven theaters custom-designed by Theo Kalomirakis for an exclusive clientele. Illustrated throughout with superb color photographs, Private Theaters tells the stories of these intimate havens - most of them complete with full-scale marquees, foyers, snack bars, and state-of-the-art auditoriums - and of the personalities who inspired and shaped them. Drawing upon his clients' personal tastes, memories, and fantasies, along with his own inspired passion for cinema and movie palaces, Kalomirakis has captured the splendor and spirit of the past, blending exciting design with the latest technology.
